Skift Article on Disney's Hollywood Studios Evolution
This week in Skift, Hannah Sampson chronicles the evolution of Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World from 1989 through next year’s opening of the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
I’m quoted in the article and noted for sharing the following, which I sincerely believe:
“I felt the Studios was waking up out of a coma…Where it had been so dormant for so long it was suddenly now breathing new life.”
This is the impression I had when I visited the Studios on opening day of Toy Story Land. The crowds were so huge for what was really the addition of some carnival-style rides. One can hardly imagine what will happen as Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway opens, followed by the new Disney Skyliner Gondola system and then Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
This is a new era for Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and it’s an exciting time. Check out the article in Skift to read more. The article also references my book, Disney’s Hollywood Studios: From Show Biz to Your Biz. While we plan an update on this book, with nearly a third of the content changing, you may want to take advantage of the first version as so many amazing stories are in it. It will give you a chance to enjoy the heritage of Disney’s Hollywood Studios, while getting you excited for the future. Check it out here at Amazon.
