Rise of the Resistance Podcast Review
So thrilled to have been at the Rise of the Resistance on opening day when it was presented to the public in Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World. It left me speechless! But never fear! Since then, I have managed to put together my words and want to share them with you on my Disney at Work & Play Podcast.
You can find the podcast here on Podbean and here at iTunes. You can also type in “Disney at Work & Play Podcast” when you visit Spotify.
Here are also some great photos of the experience that highlight some of my remarks of the ride experience:
Entrance and Queue
What was a quiet turret near a forest is no more. This is a busy place where guests are convening.
Before you enter, you must scan your boarding pass and ticket. The same will occur as you exit.
Note the 40 inch sign:
This marks the beginning of the standby queue. The first portion is exterior with lots of shade and fans.
You pass by some lovely waterfalls flowering nearby.
Here is the backside of water as you enter the caves.
About seven of these caves and hallways carve out your interior queueing experience:
Occasionally there are props and maps along the way.
The caves serve as a storage area for the Resistance.
Here are the infamous rock benches, found most of the way through the interior queue.
More props along the way.
Ride Experience
Pre-show experience starring BB8…
…and Rey as a hologram. Very convincing.
Soon you are out the doors and on your way to rendezvous.
Poe’s X-Wing stands nearby waiting for departure.
You can see BB8 and even Poe inside the cockpit.
Our U-ship transporter is also getting underway in this grotto where we are lining up.
Inside the transporter we see our flight crew.
Captured as rebels, you soon find yourself aboard the Star Destroyer. Storm Troopers await you.
We look back to see our ship in the dock.
A Tie Fighter stands ready nearby.
The Cast is a convincing part of the show.
A hallway leading to interrogation.
Storm Troopers on guard as you head for interrogation.
Interrogation room assignments.
The interrogation room. Note the ambient light on the ceiling.
Escape! Not the corrugated cuts into the wall on the right.
Getting boarded in transport vehicles.
Our droid knows the way–we think!
Instruction coming in from Finn.
Encounter with a probe droid.
An encounter with the control center as we come upon both Kylo Ren and General Hux.
An encounter with AT-AT Walkers.
Inside the gunship rooms
A last encounter with Kylo Ren.
Our escape pod back to Batuu.
We kind of miss the landing target and end up in a warehouse.
It appears Lieutenant Beck is also okay in his escape pod.
Scott Trowbridge is at the exit seeing the first guests get off the attraction.
