Christmas Magic at the Magic Kingdom

Christmas Magic at the Magic Kingdom

The week after Thanksgiving is one of the best weeks to be visiting Walt Disney World. It’s a special week for my wife and I as we visited the Magic Kingdom 32 years ago this week! I reminisce about that as we check out all things at the park from the newly painted entrance sign, to the Ticket and Transporation Center, to the monorail and though all the lands of the Magic Kingdom. We check on Christmas Cavalcades, holiday foods, construction and Tron and so much more. From the Tomorrowland Terrace we also talk about our new Patreon group, what it offers you, and how you can help out those in need this season. Join us for this podcast, and be sure to check out its sister video on our YouTube channel, J. Jeff Kober. This is the podcast for getting into the spirit of the Holidays! Join us!

You can find the complete video on our YouTube channel, J. Jeff Kober. Our podcast carries narrative of the entire experience. You can find the podcast here on PodbeaniTunesSpotifyMyTuner, and ListenNotes. Please subscribe to both!

Below are some highlights:

This setting allows me to wax nostalgia about our first visit 32 years ago the week after Thanksgiving.

When Will the Hall of Presidents Close?

While nothing official has been announced, it’s believed that the Hall of Presidents will close when President-Elect Joe Biden is inaugurated.

If you don’t get a chance between now and then to see this show, then here’s your chance to check it out below.

Holiday Treats

The Sunshine Terrace offers this Orange Bird. The treat is made of an orange-scented white chocolate mousse filled with orange curd. All of it sits on a cake-like shell with a Santa Orange Bird on top. I give this a definite 3/3 stars!

Much less interesting is the new spicy chicken sandwich available at Cosmic Rays. While the Santa Mickey print is cute, the slaw does not offset a rather lackluster McDonald’s like/not Chick Fil-A type chicken. It’s a 1/3 stars.

What was fantastic was the Salted Carmel Sunday complete with a churro, frostings and sprinkles. Definitely 3/3 stars

Christmas Character Cavalcades

Any entertainment is appreciated, but the Disney Christmas Cavalcades during the holidays are a step above all of them. Here we have Mickey, Minnie and friends.

Here is Santa, his reindeer and elves.

Tron Construction

Always great to see the progress on the Tron roller coaster. Such is the case with the canopy frame being put in place.

More Holiday Magic

Epcot Holiday Discoveries & More!

We explore all of Epcot as it is transformed for the holiday season. From the front of the park, to the Christmas tree in the center of the park and even in front of The American Adventure, we see the holidays ramping up as we visit the World Showcase pavilions like UK, France, and Germany. Even Figment has a new holiday sweater! We see new construction underway in Italy, and we discuss the status of Ratatouille in France as well as HarmoniUS, which will feature both daytime and nighttime displays. It’s a great time of year to be in Epcot, so join us!

Disney’s Hollywood Studios Holiday Tour & More!

We visited Disney’s Hollywood Studios three times over a two day period to give you a big update of all that is happening at this park during the holidays. We check out the decor both day and night and note some of the changes that have happened that accommodate the pandemic, or that are simply new. We especially take the time to visit Rise of the Resistance twice, where we check out the effectiveness of the new online boarding pass system, that permits you to get your pass at 7:00 am in the morning before the park opens. We also look at how changes to the attraction and to ride vehicles on Rise of the Resistance as well as Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway is making it possible for more guests to experience this attraction each day.

Discovering the Holidays and More at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

We hit the trail at Disney’s Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World to see the park both during the day and night. Beginning and ending at the Christmas Tree in the front of the park, it’s a chance to check out all of the holiday decorations found in Discovery Island, DinoLand, Asia, Africa, and Pandora: The World of Avatar. We not only check out the decorations but holiday foods currently offered and other happenings at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Check out our ideas for the best menu ideas at Sat’uli Canteen, the re-opening of the Harambe Market, anteater happenings and so much more. And be sure to check out our post at DisneyatPlay.com for additional photos, videos and links.
