Epcot Discoveries Tour & Update
We offer a big look at what’s going on at Epcot as we visit the last day of October, 2020. We check out changes to the front of the park; take a ride on Soarin’; check out the Waffle kiosk for Epcot’s food & wine; Take a boat across World Showcase Lagoon to Morocco; discuss changes in management to the Morocco pavilion; enjoy a stroll through Japan; Check out the Annual Passholder store in Germany; Visit the Shanghai Disney exhibit in China; Look at hints and details of what’s to come to Epcot at the Epcot Experience; and see new holiday merchandise at Mouse Gears. All this and more in this big update at Epcot.
You can find our podcast here on Podbean, iTunes, Spotify, MyTuner, and ListenNotes. Key notes and photos are below, but you’ll find most of my commentary on the podcast. Also, be sure to not only catch the video on YouTube. be sure to subscribe so you get updates.
Entering into Epcot, we didn’t showcase this construction on the park that is supposed to host the former Leave a Legacy tiles showcased in front of Spaceship Earth. Like many projects at Epcot, this one has not moved forward much.
We feature visiting Soarin’ while at The Land Pavilion:
But I didn’t get a chance to revisit Awesome Planet. Here is my original review:
I do love these murals and spend time chatting about them as well in the video and podcast.
Here’s an over the fence shot from across the Land into the former breezeway leading into Future World West.
Here’s a shot between Future World West and World Showcase.
And this is what that same view looks like over the fence. We took a similar shot last month, and not much has changed except the removal of the second floor of the Electric Umbrella on the far right.
I reference this sailing ship in the podcast/video. Yes…it’s really made of a lacquered styrofoam.
On another visit I found Alice paying a special visit to guests behind the fence at United Kingdom.
Our podcast and video spends considerable time walking the streets of Morocco discussing the results of pavilion management being turned over to Disney.
The next two images showcase the current Kidcot program going on.
Regal Eagle barbecue now has its own merchandise at the Art of Disney store. Trying to think of how many restaurants have their own merchandise at Disney Parks.
I didn’t review it on the podcast, but take a look at this portrait of Maximillian from The Black Hole. This is an awesome painting (way too expensive however). Maximillian is one of the great underrated Disney villains out there.
We reviewed the waffle dishes on the podcast but not the lobster sandwich. it tasted great, but you can see the size is small for the $8+ price on it. I gave it two stars and my daughter gave it 3 stars.
Jammitors and Mariachi Cobre are playing at American Gardens Theater. Here’s a glimpse at the ladder if you haven’t had a chance to check it out:
Here’s what you didn’t see on the YouTube video. It’s the construction over the fence that is going on between Italy and American Adventure.
The next three images showcase discounted merchandise being sold to Disney Annual Passholders. I ended up with an Epcot Sweatshirt originally selling at $44 for only $16 plus change.
We go into quite bit of detail about this image at The Epcot Experience on both our podcast and our YouTube video. It will be interesting what shows up finally in this center area of what will be World Celebration.
Be sure to check out the complete Epcot Experience presentation. We offer the original to include Mary Poppins addition and Spaceship Earth redo.
Disney has partnered with Make a Wish to do some specialty merchandise for its 40th anniversary. We also sneak preview on the podcast and video this year’s Christmas merchandise.
