Disney’s Hollywood Studios Holiday Tour & More

Disney’s Hollywood Studios Holiday Tour & More

We visited Disney’s Hollywood Studios three times over a two day period to give you a big update of all that is happening at this park during the holidays. We check out the decor both day and night and note some of the changes that have happened that accommodate the pandemic, or that are simply new. We especially take the time to visit Rise of the Resistance twice, where we check out the effectiveness of the new online boarding pass system, that permits you to get your pass at 7:00 am in the morning before the park opens. We also look at how changes to the attraction and to ride vehicles on Rise of the Resistance as well as Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway is making it possible for more guests to experience this attraction each day. Be sure to check out not only our podcast, but our post and YouTube video showcasing everything we talk about in this podcast.

The video and podcast contain visuals and narrative of the entire experience. You can find our podcast here on PodbeaniTunesSpotifyMyTuner, and ListenNotesKey notes and additional photos are below, but you’ll find most of my commentary on the podcast and video.

Highlights

Our podcast and Youtube video cover all of the following highlights. Included is a full look at all of the decor, which has a touch more color than the traditional silver and gold look it has had in the past.

Thought this was a cute holiday decoration.

I also thought these outdoor patio umbrellas in the design of Christmas trees was clever. I suppose these are Disney originals as I can’t seem to find any on Amazon.

We try two different treats over two days. Both are from the Starbucks Trolley Car Cafe on Hollywood and Sunset Boulevard.

Disappointing was a brand new breakfast menu for Rosie’s that was advertised but not available. Perhaps soon.

This Santa feature near “It’s a Wonderful Shop” is unfortunately NOT displayed this year. Neither is the store open.

In the podcast and video we talk about our efforts to get virtual boarding passes for both days. Interesting lessons we learned in the process.

Caught my old friend T. J. Wollard working at Rise of the Resistance. T. J. is a fixture who has served decades at the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. He deserves a window somewhere on the tower. Perhaps I’ll start an online petition!!!

The Market has re-opened with Num Num Cookies and non-alcoholic Pina Colada drinks.

What’s it like to see the show on Sunset Boulevard without video, snow, lasers and more? We share in our video and podcast.

Nice to see character cavalcades at night in the park. Just wish it had a more holiday feel.

Our last experience of the day was a walk-on to Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway. Here you see images of the dividers placed in the ride vehicles.

More Holiday Magic

We hit the trail at Disney’s Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World to see the park both during the day and night. Beginning and ending at the Christmas Tree in the front of the park, it’s a chance to check out all of the holiday decorations found in Discovery Island, DinoLand, Asia, Africa, and Pandora: The World of Avatar. We not only check out the decorations but holiday foods currently offered and other happenings at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Check out our ideas for the best menu ideas at Sat’uli Canteen, the re-opening of the Harambe Market, anteater happenings and so much more. And be sure to check out our post at DisneyatPlay.com for additional photos, videos and links.
