Breaking! New Mask Requirements at Walt Disney World Amid New Openings

Amid confusing notices, Disney has announced that beginning July 30, face coverings are required for all Guests (ages 2 and up) while indoors and in Disney buses, monorail and Disney Skyliner, regardless of vaccination status. This includes upon entering and throughout all attractions. Face coverings remain optional for all Guests in outdoor common areas. All the while many former park offerings and experiences have been announced as reopening. We’ll look at a number of these announcements as Walt Disney World edges closer to its 50th Anniversary Celebration.

Our podcast carries narrative of the entire experience. You can find the podcast here on PodbeaniTunesSpotify,  and ListenNotes. Please subscribe!

Confusion

Note: At the time of this writing:

  • No mention was made on the blog site
  • No mention was made on their news site
  • No mention was made on their twitter feeds
  • Mention made on their web site was followed by contradictory information and tables suggesting differently for vaccinated guests and that all of that was ending (not beginning) on June 30th
  • Nothing is mentioned about previously dropped measures such as social distancing or fever checks
  • Comparable wording can be found for Disneyland

All of this in the context that Orange County Florida has had its highest number of new COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began. On Tuesday, Orange County had 1,371 new cases. Hospitals have especially had a large influx of patients dealing with it. Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings signed an executive order Wednesday declaring a local state of emergency.
