Nightime Holiday Magic at Disneyland

Seasons Greetings! Last week we took a look at how the holiday season unfolds at Disneyland during the day with attraction overlays, holiday shows and festive decorations. We now look at how the Disneyland Resort comes to life in even brighter and more amazing ways at night. At Disneyland we check out how Sleeping Beauty’s Castle transforms into winter enchantment. We check out the Christmas Fantasy Parade, as well as holiday shows at “it’s a small world” and in Tomorrowland. Fireworks and snowflakes on Main Street? We’ll see, but we’ll also go to Disney California Adventure and see the holiday decor there, attraction overlays and a big finale in World of Color: Season of Light Holiday show. Magic on Main Street, U.S.A.

The best way to start the nighttime festivities is with the Christmas Tree lighting ceremony in town square. All of the lights are simply amazing up and down Main Street, U.S.A. It draws us further toward the evening’s festivities.

Wintertime Enchantment at Sleeping Beauty’s Winter Castle

the sky overhead lights up with dazzling color, more than 80,000 twinkling lights illuminate Sleeping Beauty Castle with sparkling “icicles” and shimmering snow-capped turrets. This is for those who miss the Cinderella Castle Dreamlights Show that played so prominently for years at Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World. While the castle is smaller, the look and feel is much more magical.

Christmas Fantasy Parade

With a ballerina, a teddy bear and toy soldiers leading the way, Mickey and Minnie work with Chip ‘n’ Dale to organize an avalanche of letters to Santa.
Anna, Elsa and Olaf bid you a warm winter welcome from their fantastic Frozen realm.
Under the direction of Mrs. Claus, Goofy and Pluto attempt to build a gingerbread house.
Buzz Lightyear rides in a spaceship atop a float with elves, Woody and Jessie.
The Disney Princesses dance at the Candlelight Ball.
In the grand finale, wave hello to Santa Claus himself.

The Walt Disney World version may be more grand, but this one you didn’t have to pay an extra ticket to see. Below is the full show:

Small World Holiday Lights & Light Show

Thousands of lights, seasonal music and a Santa hat on the clock face give a grand welcome to Small World Holiday. Add to it on the quarter and 3/4 hour of the clock comes a fast-paced projection show offering its own festive whimsy.

Wintertime Enchantment at Sleeping Beauty Castle

Believe…in Holiday Magic Fireworks Spectacular

The iconic castle undergoes an even more stunning transformation during the this fireworks show. It includes projections along Main Street, U.S.A. And the production culminates in an enchanted snowfall over various park locations.

Merry Car-istmas!

Celebrate the “haul”-idays at Cars Land, where the residents of Radiator Springs have decked the streets in seasonal a-tire. No parts have been spared during this custom motorcar makeover! Cruise on over to enjoy holiday happenings like Mater’s Jingle Jamboree and Luis Joy to the World.

World of Color: Season of Light Holiday Show

Preceding this event is a Moana 2 show on the water highlighting. On the night I was there, Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear performed live on stage.

Stories to Warm the Heart
Weaving classic films like Cinderella, Lady and the Tramp, Beauty and the Beast and Fantasia with contemporary hits like Frozen and Inside Out, this wondrous celebration brings stories of friendship, family and love to life.

A Jolly, Joyous Musical Score
From seasonal favorites to cherished movie tunes, the medley of music will have you singing and swaying along. And Goofy’s madcap musical light display adds hilarious hijinks sure to make spirits extra bright!

From the opening number to the breathtaking finale, this awe-inspiring show is a moving emotional tapestry. You may want to make it part of your family’s holiday traditions.
