Mickey’s Toon Town

Want one more reason Disneyland stands apart from Magic Kingdom? It’s this little corner of the park—dedicated to Mickey and the Gang. Again, it’s a place dripping with details and theming. There’s a small coaster for kids, plus some play areas known as Gadget’s Go Coaster. Smaller attractions include Chip ‘n Dale TreehouseDonald’s Boat, and Goofy’s Playhouse. They are designed to bring out the toddler in anyone.

The one major attraction in this land is Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin. Think about putting a spinning teacup in a dark ride, as that’s what they did to Pinocchio’s Daring Adventure when they were testing out the concept. Add one crazy rabbit, a stunning redhead, and a baby that smokes cigars, and you have a pretty fun ride as you whirl around in a puddle of “DIP” spilled by the weasels. It’s an attraction that can only be enjoyed here in the States. Definitely check it out. It’s also the only dark ride in the park that has a FastPass option.

Two other experiences require that you visit this corner of the park. Unlike Magic Kingdom, there are not a lot of dedicated character meet ‘n’ greet experiences at Disneyland. Most of the characters actually just walk the streets of the park—all the more reason to step slowly and take it all in. But the original character meet ‘n’ greet destinations ever created are here. One is with Minnie Mouse, and the other is to the leader of the club—Mickey Mouse.

And coming in 2022 to Toon Town, is Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway. This Mickey-themed ride-through attraction will put guests inside the wacky and unpredictable world of a Mickey Mouse cartoon short where anything can happen! Once they step into the cartoon world of Mickey and Minnie, they’ll board a train with Goofy as the engineer. Then, one magical moment after the next leads guests to a zany, out-of-control adventure filled with surprising twists and turns.
