Cars Land

There is nothing quite like this land in any Disney theme park anywhere. You step right into the very town of Radiator Springs, made famous by the film Cars. Here, the street has not only been authentically recreated, the entire Cadillac canyon range has been staged around it. This area is a 12-acre expansion that opened in 2012.

Radiator Springs Racers uses the technology found in Test Track at Epcot, only this carries out the experience much better. You begin with a leisurely drive up the canyon. You then enter the world of Radiator Springs where you meet all of the film’s characters in an animatronic form. Soon you’re paired with another vehicle to race through the canyons ending up at Tail Light Caverns.

You can see the entire attraction play out below:

A couple of other attractions fill out the menu of this land. Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree is a sort of whip ride utilizing baby tractors that pull trailers seating guests. Listen to the lyrics, they are as silly as Mater himself.

Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters invites you to step through Luigi’s Casa Della Tires shop where you board cars that move and spin around to Italian folk music.

Shopping and Food & Beverage here is just pure enjoyment. Ramone’s House of Body ArtSarge’s Surplus Hut, and Radiator Springs Curios offers a variety of merchandise. Food is simply fun; Fillmore’s Taste-In offers healthy choices on the go.

Flo’s V8 Café serves comfort food in a diner-style setting. This is a throwback to corner diners made famous in the forties and fifties, only everything is themed to the love of cars.

The Cozy Cone Motel becomes an amazing snack food stand, with each serving foods with the word “cone” in it. Try pop “cone”, an ice cream cone, or chili “cone” queso. Adjacent, vehicles like Lightning McQueen and Mater make meet ‘n’ greet appearances.

Be sure to visit this part of the park not only during the day but at night as well. The entire canyon is lit up and you are immersed in a world all its own. The town lights up with neon, just like in the film. It’s really amazing.

And if that wasn’t enough, there’s Christmas and Halloween, where car parts are re-fashioned into creative ornamentation. Cars Land is the best of the best. And you can only find it in Disney California Adventure.
