Epcot Festival of the Holidays

Epcot Festival of the Holidays

We’re here at Epcot to dive into the Festival of the Holidays. Last time we were at Epcot, we had a sneak peek at the decorations, here we go into many of the holiday offerings and entertainment. We also check out a number of construction activities going on at Guardians of the Galaxy, Play Pavilion and Space 220. We also check out the new Mobile Checkout program being tested at MouseGears. So join us for this festive look at the holidays around Epcot!

Before we get into moments we share in the podcast/YouTube video, we thought you might like a look at progress on the Epcot fountain in front of Spaceship Earth. The work on the fountain floor is nice, and better than the random rough edging that was there before. I hope this opens soon!

We talk about the new Walt Disney Statue, still planned for the park when you enter. This will be a photo favorite.

Here in the center of the park we see guests enjoying the Christmas tree and doing photos.

“The Piano Lady” Carol Stein performs at World Showplace. We take a moment to listen on the podcast/video.

Very impressive gingerbread version of the Washington DC landmarks here in World Showplace. You can see all of them on the video. Note who are the statues on each end of the Capitol building.

The Duck confit was very tasty, but it had sliced pan potatoes, not dumplings. The coquito-style egg not was tasty. Both were two out three stars.

The musical sound of Joyful! really made World Showplace come alive! Wow! Much better location for them than the old fountain in Future World, which was not conducive for enjoying.

We see little Festival of the Holidays banners in the train garden. I don’t see a Christmas tree. Still, lots of trains running.

Lots of debate as to whether the Play pavilion will still be coming to what was Wonders of Life. I give my thoughts in the podcast and video.

Also, good news on construction starting on the old Universe of Energy building in creating the new Guardians of the Galaxy coaster. There had not been much progress in months.

We go into detail about this new offering being tested at MouseGears with shopping on the app and not having to wait in line for a cashier. It was great!
